scrapping certificate – how it works

Obtain a certificate to scrap your car correctly! At Kungsåra Bildemontering, we will help you and ensure that everything is done correctly from the start.

What is a scrapping certificate?

A scrapping certificate is an official certificate issued when a car is handed in to an authorized car scrapping facility for dismantling. The certificate shows that the car has been disposed of correctly in accordance with environmental requirements and that it is no longer registered in the road traffic register.

When do you need a scrapping certificate?

This applies when you want to permanently take your car off the road. For example, if the car is damaged and can no longer be used. Even if the car has been banned from the road or is deregistered, you still need a scrapping certificate.

How to obtain your scrapping certificate at Kungsåra Bildemontering

Obtaining a certificate to scrap your car is a simple process, and we are happy to help you through it!

Step 1: Drop off your car/book a pickup

You can either drop off the car yourself, but if it's not drivable, you can also book a pickup. Once we get the car, we'll check the info and make sure it's ready to be scrapped.

Step 2: Registration certificate part 2 required

In order for us to issue a scrapping certificate, we need part 2 of the registration certificate. This is the yellow part that is used for changes of ownership and deregistration.

Step 3: We handle the administration directly with the Transport Agency

Once we have received and dismantled the car, we send all the information to the Swedish Transport Agency. This means that you do not need to contact them yourself.
